Last weekend, Kristen and Howie had a wonderful winter wedding at Riverfront Events in Wilmington. It was a beautiful day, and though chilly, it was bright and definitely what you would expect in February (not like the 70 degree day two days before they said ‘I do’).

Preparation & Winter Wedding Ceremony

Aaron and I had the privilege of capturing this sweet couple’s day. We started photography indoors as Kristen’s makeup was being finished and all her final touches were put into place. Close by, Howie got some help with his boutonniere, buttoned up, and everyone was ready to go! Howie and Kristen chose to not see each other before the ceremony. We took some photos of them each separately and with their attendants before the wedding started. (making sure they didn’t accidentally pass each other in the hallways of course!)

Kristen and Howie are big Disney fans. It was one of the things that they were excited to have in common when they started dating. Kristen’s dress is from Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings Collection – isn’t it lovely and elegant? It was the perfect dress for this beautiful winter bride.

After the ceremony, we spent some more time outside on the Riverwalk for family, bridal party, and couple photos. Here are just a few favorites of the bride and groom together. Don’t let anyone ever tell you that Winter photos and landscapes can’t be gorgeous!

Winter Wedding Reception

And finally, the winter wedding reception! Everyone was warm inside the gorgeous Riverfront Events ballroom. This is one of my favorite venues for taking ‘first dance’ shots – the colors are always stunning. The DJs from Silver Sound brought a GREAT playlist (lots of Disney during dinner of course!) and everyone had a blast.
