I’m excited to share this sneak peek of Alyssa and Patrick’s mid-October wedding day with you!
We started the day at the Courtyard Marriott (University of Delaware where Alyssa and her attendants were getting ready. Alyssa was full of smiles and excitement (and a little nervous – it’s hard not to be when you finally get to your day!)
After a little while, Alex met up with the guys at Deerfield Golf Club (the couple’s reception venue) for pre-ceremony pics. Between some pretty fun group pics and a few of Patrick on the golf course, I’d say they had a good time.
Alyssa and Patrick’s ceremony was held at St. Thomas the Apostle in Glenn Mills, Pennsylvania. Patrick’s Uncle officiated. Having a family member in that role added a very personal touch to their ceremony. It also added some laughter as Uncle Pat has a good sense of humor! Afterwards, we headed back to Newark for some bridal party photos at the University of Delaware. Both Alyssa and Patrick are UD grads, making this a meaningful (and necessary!) stop.
I haven’t mentioned the rain yet – this mid-October wedding day was a wet one! After arriving at Deerfield, just prior to the start of cocktail hour, we had a little time for a few more photos with the newlyweds. Very early in the day Alyssa told me that she was just ‘embracing the rain’! I love her positivity (really, what else can you do?!). Beauty is often found in bright, sunny days, but it is not ONLY found in bright sunny days. You just have to know where to look. I love these Deerfield shots because they really are beautiful, and they (like the rest of the images in this post) tell the story of the day. The most important thing that happened on 10-14-23? These two got hitched! Their excitement, smiles and laughter really made the day. Congratulations, Alyssa and Patrick!!!
