A Bucks County Wedding⎟ Bridgett & Nick

Saturday’s Bucks County Wedding wasn’t exactly what was originally planned. As with so many other couples, the coronavirus forced Bridgett and Nick to reframe their thinking/planning for their wedding day. Can I tell you what I am really impressed with? Their resilience and determination to get married and celebrate in some way. I love that they stuck with their original ceremony date!

Changing the Wedding Day Plan

It’s not an easy thing to reschedule a big wedding ceremony and reception that you have been planning for the last year. So much time, energy (and sometimes tears!) goes into wedding planning. Changes due to COVID-19 have added more stress, more planning time, and many more tears. When Bridgett, Nick, and I met via Zoom in April, we all thought there was NO WAY this effect their late July wedding. However, as the weeks went on, it became clear that July 25th was going to look different than originally hoped.

Bridgett and Nick kept moving along and planned to do their ceremony on their original wedding date. I really admire them for making the tough decision to be patient and wait to celebrate with more of their family and friends when it is safe to do so. I also love their attitude of ‘we really want to get married and we are going to enjoy it as best we can despite the circumstances!’ So on this hot Saturday afternoon in July, they said their vows to one another before God and some socially-distant witnesses at St. Jude’s in Bucks County, PA.

It was a delight to serve them and celebrate with them. Although I wouldn’t have wished this on them (or anyone else), I consider myself blessed to get to capture TWO wedding celebrations for this couple. I’m looking forward to spending the day next Spring with them and their awesome families at White Marsh Valley Country Club (a Bucks County Wedding Venue).

Praying Mantis!

What else am I impressed with? Bridgett’s calm demeanor despite the number of insects who were really impressed with her dress. (I mean, the dress IS amazing). It was such a bright sunny day that we were limited to just a couple of spots around the church for portraits of the bride and groom together. We decided on a location along a woodsy tree-line. The only downside there was that it was a bit of a buggy hot spot. Even a praying mantis stopped by! See the photo below of Nick so gently trying to remove the little guy from his wife’s dress layers.

Bridgett and Nick, congratulations! I’m so happy for the two of you and so glad you had a chance to celebrate this week. Cheers to many more celebrations!

Maybe you are planning a Bucks County wedding or a wedding in another location. Reach out! I’d love to chat about how we can capture some unforgettable memories for you and yours. 💕
