This Fall was a whirlwind in the best sense of the word. I quickly became so busy through October and November that I’ve barely had time to share much on social media and haven’t blogged at all in over a month! I can’t not post from Katie & Mike’s Deerfield wedding, though. I’m so excited to share a sneak peek from their day!

Katie and Mike actually live in Pittsburgh, and it is Katie’s parents who live in Delaware. They were helpful in finding Deerfield, the perfect choice for a November wedding, and so the date and venue were set! As they continued to plan, Katie and Mike began looking for a Delaware wedding photographer (naturally!). My friend Mike, (Must Be the Music DJs), gave them my name. Because I grew up in the Pittsburgh area, we instantly had a special connection. And, my name is Katie too…so obviously it was meant to be :-).

First Looks

The bridesmaids, father of the bride, and Mike were all treated to a surprise look at the beautiful bride once she was ready. Whether between the bride and groom, other family members, or the bridal party, these are always a lot of fun. I love capturing the reactions. Here are a couple from each first look on Katie and Mike’s day followed by some bride and groom pics!

Deerfield Wedding Ceremony & Reception

As you can already see, Deerfield is a beautiful venue inside and out. It was a chilly day, but we managed to take couple and bridal party photos outdoors to make use of the Fall foliage. Afterwards, everyone took a little break inside to warm up, and then the outdoor ceremony began! It was short and sweet, underneath a tree on the outdoor patio. A perfect setting.

At the reception, DJ Mike Simmons from Must Be the Music brought the party! Everyone enjoyed themselves, the bride and groom most of all :-). Congratulations, Katie and Mike! It’s been such a pleasure serving you two!
