It’s always exciting when you get to explore new places. This Sayen Gardens engagement session on Friday was so much fun and the perfect location for Aaron and Alexandra. I had no idea that these gardens existed – Sayen is definitely a hidden gem in Hamilton, New Jersey.
It wasn’t overly crowded for an early Friday evening, but we still had to wait our turn for some foot bridge shots! Once we realized the bridge was unoccupied, running across a field with my 50 pound camera bag was probably a pretty funny sight. Even more impressive was Alexandra running in her cute wedge sandals!
I had such a great conversation with Alexandra (well, video chat – that’s the way things are now!) the first time we spoke. Sometimes you know pretty quickly that you’d be a great fit as far as working together. Aaron and Alexandra are dog people (I love my pup clients!). I was SO relieved to hear this because my dog ended up barging in on our meeting. I also remember hearing that Aaron thought it was cool that I mention craft beer on my ‘about me‘ page, as he is a big craft beer fan as well.
Also in that first conversation, I loved hearing about how these two met at a big Christmas Eve party. Afterwards, Aaron went as far as making an instagram account just so he could connect with Alexandra. So sweet! It is really important to me to listen to people’s stories – I love learning about what is meaningful to them and what makes them tick as a couple – it helps me to serve them better!
Sayen Gardens really is a stunning location. (you need to visit!) This post is only featuring a few of the spots we used for Aaron and Alexandra’s session. If I was forced to choose, I’d probably say that the series of photos in and around the gazebo (especially the photos in the azaleas) are my absolute favorite!
Aaron and Alexandra, I can’t wait to capture more for you on your wedding day next Spring!
