A Fall Family Session

Ahhhh! A Carney family Fall session at Marian Coffin Gardens. Perfection. In case you missed my Instagram post, nearly every year (for I think 5 or 6 years) Shaina comes up with a family theme for their photo session. For this year, she picked a Victorian/gothic type theme. (their outfits and props are the best!)

Getting Personal

Due to the weather, the particular day this family session was scheduled was GROSS. It was a dark day and threatening rain most of the time (of course it started lightly raining immediately when I got to the Marian Coffin Gardens). Because October is Mental Health Awareness Month, let me be real a second. It was hard for me to feel that motivated to even pack up my camera for this session. Some days are like that. I know for many, it’s possible that more days in 2020 have felt this way than in any other year.

So, I’m writing something a little more personal to let you know that if you are reading this and also struggle with anxiety and depression, you aren’t alone. Seek help if you haven’t already. Find a support system. I’m thankful that in the hardest of times my faith gives me hope. My husband, family, and friends support me. I told my husband before leaving for this session that I knew when I got the gardens and got started, I would have more energy and that it would help with the ‘gray feelings.’ This is because I love what I get to do. I love serving families and couples with creativity. What do you love? Put that in your ‘tool box’ to fight against mental illness.
