A Fall Wedding in Delaware

Chelsea & Paul – Riverfront Events

Ahhh we’ve made it to October, and this season is busy! (not a complaint, I’m thankful!) This particular Fall wedding in Delaware was in my home town of Wilmington at Riverfront Events (one of my favorite venues). Chelsea and Paul had a wonderful day weather-wise, not too hot and not to cold. Great weather is just one reason that Fall weddings have become so popular. Changing colors (you’ll see some evidence of that in some of the photos below) is another. I’m excited to share a quick overview of their day with you!

Prep at the Hyatt Place Riverfront

I always love prep shots because there is so much anticipation, and quite often nervous excitement. It’s exciting for brides and grooms to finish getting ready before one of the biggest moments in their lives. I approach prep time with a plan to focus on what clients have told me is important to them. Some are really into details, some not so much. One particular detail that Chelsea had was a patch with a special message from her father (who has passed on) reminding her of his love. What a sweet moment when Chelsea’s Mom pinned that patch into the layers of her wedding dress. Prep is also a great time for fun shots of the bridal party. Check out the gorgeous robes that Chelsea and her ladies wore!

Ceremony Time

You will find that very often, a Fall wedding in Delaware will be outside. Our climate here in our small North Eastern state lends itself well to outdoor ceremonies, especially in the month of October. Chelsea and Paul chose to do their ceremony just feet from the waterfront in the beautiful shaded area on Riverfront Event’s patio.

And let me tell you about their flower girl! I really hope that someone reads this and tells her what a great job she did, because I didn’t get a chance to! She was the sweetest and the most graceful flower girl I’ve seen. She took her time with those petals and I can tell she practiced her form – it was perfect.

I have just a little taste of their ceremony here for you, followed by some shots of the bride and groom afterwards. It’s always hard to decide what to include in these posts! So little time and space and so much to share!

The Reception

Dancing, toasts, cutting the cake – Chelsea and Paul enjoyed every moment. You could tell from their expressions throughout the night that they were having a blast. I think the first dance shots are my favorites. There’s something about the first dance that I especially love capturing. So many beautiful candid moments.

Are you planning a Fall wedding in Delaware, or maybe in another location? I’m a Delaware photographer, but love to travel! (Fall is beautiful in lots of places :-). Get in touch! Let’s talk about how we can capture all the moments you want to remember.
