A Hagley Wedding

Sara & Jay

Fall is in full swing and my schedule is feeling the effects. It’s hard to believe a full week has gone by since Sara and Jay’s beautiful Hagley wedding. I’m in love with the color and light from their ceremony and am so excited to share these images.

As Sara was walked down the aisle, she smiled and laughed at Jay’s priceless expression. He was blown away and it showed. And the light. The light was just amazing. The sun was still shining during their late afternoon ceremony. You can see it shining on the trees behind Sara as she walks down the aisle. You can also see it in the reflection of the trees on the Soda House. My favorite was the light that was visible right behind Sara during the ceremony. The sun was peeking through creating a beautiful bokeh effect of light mixed with the green of the trees.

My First Hagley Wedding

All these years as a professional Delaware wedding photographer (14 to be exact) and this was my first Hagley Wedding! I hope there are many more to come. It is a unique historical venue with so much to offer on its 235 acre property. After Sara and Jay’s ceremony, the bridal party and guests gathered at a nearby field and a cannon was shot off in celebration. That was a pretty cool thing to witness and capture. After the ceremony I headed over to what used to be a mill on the water front with the bridal party and immediate family for photos.

Congratulations, Sara & Jay! The following are some favorites from their Hagley wedding ceremony. Enjoy this little sneak peek.
