A Marian Coffin Engagement Session

If you follow me on Instagram or follow my blog, you know that I love sessions at the Marian Coffin Gardens! I was particularly excited for Derek and Keshia’s Marian Coffin engagement session – and who can blame me?! These two are amazing and came ready for the runway!

This location has so much to offer. It pairs really really well with an evening gown, suit, and bow tie. Beautiful archways, statues, a large ornate gate – so many possibilities. We used the walkways and beautiful flower beds for some bright shots earlier in the evening. Check out the ‘walking pics’ – I love the way they are looking at each other and smiling. And the arches! Putting subjects halfway down the walk that leads to the archway is another favorite spot of mine – what a backdrop!

I also did some flash photography with Derek and Keshia during their Marian Coffin engagement session. I like the way a flash behind a couple can really make things ‘pop’ and adds a dramatic effect. It worked really well along a dark side path. Lastly, I have so many favorites from this session, and the silhouettes we took at the end are definitely up there at the top! It wasn’t completely dark yet, but adjusting camera settings to create ‘night-time like’ darkness and aiming a flash on the wall behind Derek and Keshia made a great effect! What do you think?

Derek and Keshia – I can’t wait to capture more for you on your wedding day! It will be here before we know it 🙂
