Beth and Nick had a perfect Saturday for their May wedding at the Tilton Mansion. It wasn’t too hot or too cold, and we avoided any rain storms that day. (a very dark cloud passed over at one point – but no drops!) I’ve got lots to share – it was hard to narrow down!
I always try to get a good idea about what little details are most important to clients. Something very special to Beth was this beautiful, vintage necklace that has been in her family for generations. You’ll see it in a couple shots below.
Beth and Nick decided to do a first look on their wedding day. From my perspective, it always seems that couples really enjoy having those few quiet and private minutes to talk with one another before they are the center of attention for the rest of the day. For Beth and Nick, seeing each other before the ceremony also gave them the opportunity to take photos with family and their bridal party earlier in the day. After the ceremony, they didn’t have that pressure to get all the photos in because they were already done!
Whist Weddings sets up outdoor ceremonies under a huge tree. It is a really beautiful setup! This particular May wedding day was bright and sunny when Beth and Nick said ‘I do’, which made for some really pretty light. They chose to have a few readings and also to ‘tie the knot’ (literally) following Celtic tradition (see below!).
A first dance followed by toasts and dinner. It was a wonderful time for family and friends! I have some reception details and first dance photos to share today. Check out the twirl at the end!
I was pretty sure when I first looked at Beth and Nick’s cake that it was a Desserts by Dana creation. Dana’s work is so unique, gorgeous, and always a pleasure to see and photograph! I had fun taking a million closeups – and of course, cake cutting photos are always fun!
