Engagement Session – Brandywine Park

This time of year is so much fun for an engagement session in Delaware. Little green leaves are starting to come out on the trees. The cherry blossoms are everywhere. My favorite blossoming tree is the Kwanzan Cherry. They were actually the inspiration for my logo! A couple of weeks ago we had some really cold days (lows in the 20s). Because of this, I was worried that we wouldn’t have any blooms for Howie and Kristen’s engagement session. Thankfully, I was wrong and they provided a gorgeous background (and some nice foreground at times).

For many reasons (see this post), an engagement session is a really important investment. I love having that extra time to get to know a couple, to get to know how they interact with one another, and for everyone to feel more comfortable with one another. It was great to hear more about Howie and Kristen’s early dating days during the pandemic. They have such a cute story – their mutual love for Disney was key in how they met. I will serve them better on their wedding day from having had this hour together!

After spending time among the rows of Kwanzan trees on the edge of Brandywine Park, we crossed the street to take more photos. Technically, before we all crossed, I first grabbed the tulip shots that you see below (these are some of my favorites from the day)! The recently restored Sugar Bowl Pavilion lays directly across the street from where we started the session. It is another great historical Wilmington backdrop.
