A Spring Wedding at Hotel Palomar Philadelphia

When planning a Spring wedding, you have to expect that there might be some rain. May 18th may have been a little wet, but that didn’t stop Allie and Tim from enjoying it to the fullest. I’m really excited to share this brief overview of their day with you!

Preparations and First Look at Hotel Palomar

Though I am a Delaware photographer, I do travel out of state. However, despite frequent visits to PA, this was my first visit to the Kimpton Hotel Palomar in Philadelphia. It’s a classy, historic spot, and of course I loved it immediately. After both the bride and groom were ready, we did their first look in the library. This unique room was once used as the reference library for the Philadelphia chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). On the 25th floor, it is the perfect spot for photos with a high ceiling, large windows, built in bookshelves, and stylish decor.

Spring Wedding Showers

Thankfully, showers is a little dramatic when it comes to describing the weather on Allie and Tim’s day. After their first look, we headed outside to capture more sweet moments. There was enough of a ‘mist’ to use an umbrella, but not so much that we were getting soaked. You might say that the light drizzle (or at least the cute umbrella) even added a touch of romance to the overall atmosphere. The overcast skies provided a soft and even light, perfect for documenting these genuinely beautiful moments.

Ceremony and Reception at Hotel Palomar Philadelphia

After photos of the bride and groom and some family group photos, it was time for Allie and Tim’s ceremony. It was an emotional time, as they’ve faced a lot of adversity over the last year. How beautiful to see them both happy and healthy after a year of difficult health issues. So many smiles, even if they were smiling through tears at times (happy tears!).

I haven’t mentioned it yet, but Tim is actually the 4th in his family whose wedding I’ve had the privilege of photographing. It’s the end of an era! What a joy it is to be asked back again and again to capture these moments. I have the very best clients. Congratulations, Allie and Tim, it’s been wonderful working with you!
