Over the weekend I enjoyed some freezing but fun time with BJ and Britney in preparation for their Worsell Manor Wedding. I don’t always get to do an engagement session at the actual wedding venue site – it was nice to get to know them, take some great photos, AND plan for their wedding as we walked around the property.

I first met Britney in 2017 when my studio photographed her sister’s wedding. It’s really meaningful to me to connect with previous clients’ family members – I love it! There’s a familiarity that comes with working with a family more than once that is invaluable. Beauty in Winter

I’m a firm believer that outdoor photos can be beautiful ANY time of year. I’m a summer girl and prefer everything to be green and warm (ends up BJ and Britney share this love of summer!). However – dried flowers, evergreens, buildings (including gorgeous historic manors) – you can use these things (even if it is January) for beautiful portraits!

Worsell Manor Wedding Plans

As we walked the grounds, we talked about possible locations for BJ and Britney’s ceremony. The great thing about this location is that there are so many wonderful options! In the event of rain, they have a smaller barn (in addition to the larger one for the reception) that can be set up as a ceremony site. We used that smaller barn for some shots – I love the contrast of light and dark in these!
